WATER REMOVAL

Water is crucial to our existence, but too much too soon can be damaging to our surroundings. The reason for the water intrusion is not as important as getting it cleaned up quickly, especially if Category 3 water is involved.
Simply put, there are three types of wastewater.

CATEGORY 1

Category 1 water, considered clean water, can come from sources such as melting snow or rainwater, appliance malfunctions, clean water from your sink, tub, or inside your toilet tank, and comes with little or no threat to your health. However, if this water is not cleaned up quickly, it will turn into Category 2 water, which becomes a little more serious as far as being contaminated and posing minor health threats.

CATEGORY 2

Category 2 water, considered greywater, is used water and comes from such areas as sinks, dishwashers, and washing machines. There are much fewer strains of dangerous bacteria and microorganisms than blackwater, but can still cause some illness or discomfort if swallowed. Greywater can still wreak havoc on your property and can turn into Category 3 water in as little as 48 hours, which can become a nightmare.

CATEGORY 3

Category 3 water, considered blackwater is the most dangerous as it generally contains raw sewage, including human waste, pesticides, chemicals, and other pathogens. Raw sewage contains dangerous bacteria and pathogens that must be treated before being released back into the environment. Blackwater can also contain chemicals which makes exposure even more dangerous.

SEWAGE CLEANUP

Sewage cleanup is risky and should only be handled by professionals. Sewage contains black water that contains a plethora of dangerous microorganisms and bacteria, parasites, and other viruses.

Raw sewage can affect your health in many ways, such as intestinal, lung, and other infections.

Sewer wastewater and sewage contain bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses that can cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite.

Some of the diseases and bacteria that are carried by sewage and wastewater are E. coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera.
