Simply put, there are three types of wastewater.

FLOODED BASEMENT CLEANUP
You can use a wet vac or other means of getting the water out of your basement, but you seriously need to employ professionals for water extraction for complete water removal. By not getting all of the water out, you open your dwelling up for the very good possibility of mold growth, which can start in as little as 24-48 hours. A basement, because it is typically dark and damp, to begin with, is the perfect breeding ground for mold. A mold growth explosion can happen very quickly and once it starts, it is hard to completely eradicate.
Let our professional staff at Garrett Mechanical remove the water from your basement with our specialized equipment and dry your basement out so you have peace of mind knowing that it’s done safely and completely.
EMERGENCY FLOOD SERVICES
Besides bacteria attaching themselves to your water-logged home and belongings, there are the harmful effects of potential mold growth to consider. Don’t let the harmful effects of flood water take over your home and make it an unsafe zone.

SEWAGE CLEANUP
Cleaning the water damage mess caused by natural disasters, appliance malfunctions, and water pipe issues is just part of what we do. We also clean up sewage and sewer water backups. Sewage cleanup is risky and should only be handled by professionals. Sewage contains black water that contains a plethora of dangerous microorganisms and bacteria, parasites, and other viruses.
Raw sewage can affect your health in many ways, such as intestinal, lung, and other infections.
Sewer wastewater and sewage contain bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses that can cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite.
Some of the diseases and bacteria that are carried by sewage and wastewater are E. coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera. Fungi such as Aspergillus and other fungi can lead to allergic symptoms (such as runny nose) and can sometimes lead to lung infections or make asthma worse, especially if you have other health problems or your immune system is compromised.
Some parasites including Cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia may cause diarrhea and stomach cramps, and even nausea or a slight fever. While most people have no symptoms of roundworm (Ascariasis) exposure, roundworms can cause coughing, trouble breathing, and/or pain in your belly area and blocked intestines.
A virus such as Hepatitis A can cause liver disease. Hepatitis A symptoms are feeling tired, having pain in your belly, being nauseous, having jaundice (yellow skin), having diarrhea, or not being hungry at all.
